Walking a Stubborn Dog
Share
If your dog doesn’t want to go for a walk, there are a few things you can try to help. First, check if something might be bothering them, like a loud noise, feeling scared, or not feeling well. Make walks fun by bringing treats, using a happy voice, and letting your dog sniff around. Try walking in a quiet, calm place and start with short walks. Use a comfy harness, not something that pulls or feels tight. If your dog stops walking, don’t pull the leash—call them kindly and offer a treat. Sometimes dogs need time to get used to walking, so be patient and give lots of praise. If they still don’t want to walk, it might be a good idea to ask a vet for help.
